Description of works:

  • Internal Demolitions including strip out of all existing services, partition walls, floor finished and ceiling finishes.
  • Demolition of internal blockwork walls
  • Installation of structural steel to accommodate demolition of lift shafts and forming of openings for new escalator openings
  • Demolition of lift shafts
  • Demolition of stairwells
  • Construction of new lift shaft & escalator pits including dewatering
  • Infilling redundant opes with metal decking and reinforced concrete slabs
  • Construction of new stairwells including installation of new steel fire escape stairs
  • Relocating existing lift plant room to upper level to accommodate extra stop on upper floor
  • Levelling and grinding over existing floor finishes to accommodate new floor finishes
  • Forming new fire escapes accesses and fitting new fire escape doors throughout the building
  • Construction of new start partition walls to form fire escape routes and stairwells
  • Works carried out to very tight programme, works continued 24hrs a day, 7 days a week for the duration of the project
  • Working in close proximity to live shopping centre
